Methoni is located at the southwestern tip of the Peloponnese and has been continuously inhabited since ancient times until today. Its castle, about 93 acres, is one of the most important fortifications in the Mediterranean. It occupies a narrow peninsula 500 m long, in the east of which a small harbor was formed.
